Capron House is part of Midhurst Grammar School located on the west side of North Street (the main street through Midhurst), north of the town centre, opposite the big car park and bus station. Capron House is a historic building; it dates from 1680, and was the birth place of the late Lord Cowdray. Today it plays an important role in the community of Midhurst; it is home to Midhurst Town Council and numerous clubs societies, and with its charming rooms and walled garden is the venue for many social functions, including weddings.
