There was a matinée performance of La Périchole on Thursday 25th February 2010 for schoolchildren and parties of pensioners and others (see SCHOOLS AND ARTS PROGRAMME) and with attendance by invitation only. The matinée was performed by the alternate cast (covers) with full chorus.
St Bartholomews CofE Primary:
“All the performances we have attended so far have been a wonderful experience for the children.
It gives them an enriching opportunity which we could never provide within a school enviroment:
a professional theatrical and musical experience with which to fire their imaginations.
Please keep them going.”
Grayshott CofE Primary (First visit):
“We found it very useful and we would like to share it with more children.”
St Edmund’s School (First visit):
“It was a fun and informative way to introduce younger children
to the joys of opera without the prohibitive price tag.
The way Opera South explained to the children what was going on was particularly helpful.”

This is part of our creative curriculum to ensure a love of learning.”
